Dear Mr. Grabenstein, what is the reason you wrote this story? Was it to inspire kids to read more?

I got the idea to write the first book after visiting a school in Brooklyn, NY that had a brand new library, which had been donated by a generous millionaire. I thought, "What if…" a very generous and wacky bazillionaire donated a library to the town where he grew up? And, as a reluctant reader myself, I wanted it to be a fun book to read!
