You review of Sabine's new book was weird to say the least. You are not a physicist, I assume. And the way you look at research as similar to gambling shows your lack of education. A truly dumb-ass, irresponsible, and nasty view of physics or science in general. Maybe you should concentrate on gambling and poker which seem to be your favorite pass times . Do you get it?

Manny Rayner I do not play poker, and if you look at my shelves you'll find that I've read more than a couple of physics books. I work in research myself - check Google Scholar if you're in doubt. And the author told me in a mail that she liked the physics/poker analogy and thought it was quite apt.
