First of all, I'm a monster and have no regrets.
SECOND OF ALL, I read AMERICAN GIRLS by Alison Umminger pretty recently and loved the complexity of the female characters and the west coast setting. It had so much to say about what it means to be female in America and never asks its characters to be likable and I just enjoyed it so much!
