Peggy asked Amber Mitchell:

How do you get inspiration for a story? :)

Amber Mitchell Inspiration comes from everywhere so that's a tough one to answer. For me, I end up wondering a lot of "what if" until a concept sticks. Sometimes it's an overall idea to explore, other times it's just a bit of dialogue.

After that, I start to visualize a character or sometimes a certain scene and that's when I know I'm going to write the book. Bonus points if I can hear the main character's voice in my head.

For instance, with Garden of Thorns, I had the thought that when women dance in ballgowns, they look a little like flowers. From there, I thought about what it would be like to be one of these "flowers", why she would be there and before I knew it, this loud voice was in my head, talking to me and everything took off from there.
