Jeff Granger asked Sebastien de Castell:

I read the first two books of the Greatcoats series, but have switched to the audiobooks for the rest of the series as well as for Spellslinger. Was Joe Jameson created in a lab? I can't imagine a more perfect reader for your books. Did you have any say as to who would narrate the books, or was that a publisher's decision? If it was someone else, then whoever made the choice deserves a raise!

Sebastien de Castell For the audiobook versions of Spellslinger, the publishers offered me three choices of narrator, of which Joe Jameson was the standout. What I most appreciate about his style is that he performs the book rather than simply narrating it, lending characters their own voices and emotional context.

When it was time for the audiobooks of the Greatcoats to be done, my other publishers had different narrators in mind. While they were all talented, I pressed to have Joe narrate the Greatcoats series. As you can hear in the results, I'm glad I did – and that my publishers were kind enough to go along with my request. He's a terrific talent.
