Beachi asked Tahir Shah:

Hello I am writing a book about my mother who was born in Casablanca in 1936, and who lived there until 1955. I am trying to find out where she might have shopped in 1955 Casablanca, where she might have gone out to eat. She was French, last name of Coulais. Her parents sent her to the States in 1955 because she was pregnant and unmarried. Can you suggest where I might find information like that?

Tahir Shah Thanks for your message. Your mom was in Casa in the glory times. She would have shopped at Galleries Lafayette. And taken coffee perhaps at Le Petit Poucet. There are still traces of that time in the architecture and small details. I love to close my eyes and imagine it!
