What inspires you to write?

Martin Fletcher Hi Karen, sorry for the delay and thanks for the question. To be honest I have little inspiration, it's a really hard slog, but I do love the work. I always wanted to write books and in a way it's a pity I waited so long to start. On the other hand, my journalism career gave me a lot to write about so i think that's where the answer lies. I'm inspired to write beause I want to tell more complete stories rather than the quick stab you take as a daily journalist. Also, I love writing! Promised Land really grew out of my wish to tell the whole story and as I see the world through the prism of love, everything I write becomes a two-fer - love story and thriller, in historical fiction. i hope so anyway,
