Marci asked Rebecca Schaeffer:

how have you managed to be able to travel so much?

Rebecca Schaeffer I started by doing a year abroad in university. After I graduated, I didn't know what I wanted to do, but I knew I wanted to travel. So rather than applying to jobs in specific industries in Canada, I applied to all sorts of random jobs abroad. I got hired, moved abroad, and worked for however long the job contract was.

I should caveat this by saying that I'm Canadian and therefore my university fees were far lower, so I graduated with no debt. I should also caveat it by saying I've had some truly terrible jobs this way, and if you're planning on applying to a job and moving abroad, always do your due diligence to make sure everything is on the up and up.

But if you're good at budgeting and not afraid of moving somewhere you know absolutely no one, I recommend trying it!
