I bumped into "The bachelors" by accident, I loved the cover and I bought it. I am an English lit graduate and I really like Jane Austen so I really appreciated the many references to her characters in your book. Are you planning to write more on the Auster brothers and the Bennet sisters?

Thanks, Simo! Before I answer, there is one question I always ask. Who is your Mr Darcy? Is it Colin Firth or the other guy? There is only one correct answer ;)
I'm a huge Austen fan, and when I wrote The Bachelors I didn't want to mimic Jane Austen (because she's a queen!), merely let her inspire a contemporary take on P&P. Austen books are full of wonderful wit that sometimes gets overlooked, so I hoped to make The Bachelors a fun story containing that element of playful banter in a more modern way. I also loved playing with the characters and turning them on their heads.
I understand why Austen purists would not enjoy the way I wrote it, but it wasn't about trying to be Miss Austen—as that would be impossible—more having fun with a beloved story that I fell in love with when I was eleven. To hear you enjoyed it has made my day!
I won't be adding to The Bachelors or the Austen Brothers and Bennet sisters, but I would love to dip my toes into other Austen classics and let them inspire another contemporary tale. One day!
