Is The Woods another historical fiction book? If so, when will it be set?

R.L. Toalson Oh my goodness, Anja: I just saw this! THE WOODS is historical fiction, but it's also magical realism. It begins April 16, 1947, with the Texas City Disaster in Texas City, Texas. It was a real disaster that was sort of hushed up, which made me want to record some of its details, even if they're in a fantasy book!
