I've never heard that term before today, but when I googled it it sounds like the same genre doesn't it? Remember that in many or most cases, this kind of categorization is done by other people, not the creator of the thing. Like with musicians, there are certainly some who are really close observers of their industry and like to think about how their work lands in the genre ("My goal was to fuse 90s Nu metal with late 70s Chicago funk") but just as many are like, "I thought it would sound cool to rap over kind of a funky guitar thing."
I have never sat out to write a book saying, "I want to create something in the _____ genre" or "I'm going to give my take on the ______ style." The tone you see is just kind of how I look at the world, most of the influences are things I'm not even consciously aware of.

2 quick Q's about the reprints of your books under your given name: Spiders, What the Hell, and Futuristic Violence say "Includes a new Afterward!". Are these afterwards all different, or is it the same one across the board? Also, Zoey Punches says "Includes a sneak preview of Pargin's upcoming novel!" Is that a taste of JDatE 4? Thank you, as always, for your time.

Uh, hi. I'm from another reality where you take over the world. And I need you to answer this question so that I can go back in time and stop you. (Don't ask me how I know, it isn't very interesting and I'd probably spend about 45 years in prison.) But, if you were to go back in time and create a franchise that already exists now, what would you make? (You can change anything as long as the core concept is the same.)
