Hi Katherine, I just finished the "Winter of the Witch" and I just loved the whole series, especially the magical realms and stories of the chyerti. Just thought I would pass along how much I would LOVE to read a collection of stories about the realm you've created/adapted. Between the Midnight Road and the House by the Lake, the possibilities seem endless. Have you ever considered it?

thank you! So glad you enjoyed WINTER and yes, I would LOVE to do an original story collection. I would also love to do an illustrated collection of retold Russian fairy tales. One day, hopefully.
Oddly enough there's a good bit of material set in Midnight that didn't make it into the final draft of WINTER. Once I have time to go through it, I plan to post some of it on my website. Just as a curiosity, it wouldn't be canon or anything.

And great poetic language., I also enjoyed your bringing obscure real historic figures into the fantasy world (Dmitry Donskoy,, Ivan Kalita, Sergyi Radonezhsky etc,) Thank you!

Hi Katherine. I wanted to reach out and say that I LOVE your books. As a Russian speaking person, born in Belarus back in the Soviet Union days, I must say that I am simply amazed at how well you konw the Russian literature, folklore and history. It always puts a smile on my face to read about Morozko, domovoj and other creatures. I read that you lived in Moscow - did that help you to research for the books?
