I have been reading the Mackenzie series. To me the greatest "love story" is the one among the brothers. Have you considered writing a story focused on just the brothers before they met their wives? I love the small bits we get about their younger lives and their sometimes violent yet fierce love for each other. It would be great reading about them growing up and seeing how they got to be like they are...
