Erick MacGregor asked Kendare Blake:

I want to develop my writing a bit more, so I wanted to ask you how does your drafting process look like at the very beginning? Do you write everything in paragraphs regardless of character dialogs and such or do you "format" the text the best you can while writing it? P.D. I enjoyed Anna dressed in blood series so much; I'm looking forward to reading Three Dark Crowns series as well. Thank you for your work!

Kendare Blake My drafts generally follow manuscript format. I’m not a huge stickler for making sure I use the right number of breaks between sections, and I never set tabs or anything, but I always do paragraph breaks and dialogue and clear my sections and chapters where I want them. I want it to look as much like the final formatted manuscript as possible. Makes it very readable for my editor, which I hope eases the blow when she discovers how shitty the draft is :) And for me, it makes future steps, like copy edits, much easier.
