Thank you so much for the great comment :) I have been writing since I was eleven and "Serafina and the Black Cloak" was my first published book. I received a lot of inspiration for the series from real life, especially animals/nature, the forests and mountains where I live in Asheville NC, and my three daughters (two of which you can see in the Serafina book trailers. One plays Serafina. The other plays Lady Rowena).

I remember reading somewhere in the end of the second Serafina book that Cedric the Saint Bernard is real - that was a very exciting moment for me. What about Gidean? Is he based on a real Gidean too? He is one of my favorite characters in this series! If not, who/what was he inspired by? Also, I just purchased the first Willa book and can't wait for this weekend so I can read it!
