If you're writing a book, and you want to make it longer, how would you do so?

There are many ways to add length. Sometimes more detail can be added, or maybe a subplot can be added or expanded, Sometimes the problem can be expanded, so that just when it seems the problem is solved, something even bigger emerges. That said, not every story must be expanded. Sometimes, the story is perfect in its shorter form.
