In Curse of Chalion you have scenes of crossing a mountain pass and Penric likewise crosses a pass. You make it all very vivid and immediate. I've never been up in such a place and was wondering what experience and research you'd based this on? (This question was prompted by watching a documentary on a team of scientists looking for Hanibal's route across the alps - and seeing mountain passes.)

Hi Lois!I was in a bit of a funk so I reread Cordelia's Honor and caught a few things that I hadn't noticed before. I will have a separate post for each. #3 What exactly IS a flimsy? I keep thinking I have it figured out from context, but in Barrayar, Kly is carrying stuff in a flimsy (the snacks he gives to Gregor, the gum leaf). I can't imagine how the flimsy I had been imagining could be used as a container.

In “Penric and the Bandit”, Pen compares the Bastard’s very flexible type of justice that would seek ways to save Roz from a life of crime and set him on a better path to the Father’s law-based justice that would instead presumably only punish him (losing a hand or hanging). Do all the Gods have their own version/style/sense of justice, and would you be able to venture what they might be?
