Just recently finished The Book of M and really loved it. It's also a pretty incredible first novel - how long did you spend working on it and how do you feel about its success? It's so exciting to find a new author whose first book is SO GOOD! I'm really looking forward to reading your future novels.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! And thank you for the kind words. I've been blown away by the reception and so, so grateful to everyone who took a chance on it and picked up a copy. As for the writing process, I spent about 9 months on the first, very rough, draft, and then revised for 6 more months before I started looking for a literary agent. It felt long at the time, but the book is pretty big (about 150,000 words), and it seems like my second novel is going to need a bit more work than that, so now I miss that speed! :)

I really like the sound of your debut novel, looking forward to embarking on my journey with The Book of M. My question is aimed at what influenced you to create this work, and if the story itself manifested in your mind from any personal experience(s)? I think the idea of someone slowly losing their memory/identity is profoundly tragic, and was wondering if there is any personal connection linked with the premise?
