Goodreads asked Tabitha Bird:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Tabitha Bird Write. Rewrite. Write again. (Wash, rinse and repeat) Get as much feedback on your work as you can. Not from your Mum or Nan, but from writers who are further along the journey than you are. Enter competitions where you can get feedback too.

Trust your path as a writer. Everyone's journey is different so don't compare. It took me all of my 42 years to be able to write this book. I simply was not ready to write it any sooner. And, although I would have argued differently years ago, I was not ready for it to be published any sooner either. My path to publication has happened in perfect timing. Trust that where you are is where you are meant to be and just keep going.
