I'm writing a paper for a Speculative Fiction (SF) class about The Hollows series and how Urban Fantasy sits under SF between Fantasy and Science Fiction. How do you feel The Hollows sits between those genres? Does the series lean more towards one or the other or right in between?

I adore the subject of your paper. I'd love to hear your answer on the subject, seeing as you've clearly done some "homework" on it, and your opinion is probably more informed then mine, seeing as I'm too close to it to be impartial.

I need to know why Rachel can't do ANY of the things demons normally do instantly. Take a shower, fix hair, get dressed, etc. Demons don't have to do any of that - they just BAM do it. You explain why she can't travel the lines due to her aura being changed and her inability to use her gargoyle. But I don't see demons popping in and out of places with gargoyles helping them. Can you explain?
