This was the first time I had heard of Georgia Tann. I started reading more about the book and low and behold!! This was based on real events. Thank you for opening my mind to these horrific events in our history. How did you first learn about the scandal?

Lisa Wingate In the wee hours of the morning, working on a writing deadline, an episode of Discovery Channel's "Women Above the Law" came on. There I was, fascinated and off-task while I watched. There are several documentaries, some books and articles I mentioned in the book, and a movie starring Mary Tyler Moore if you search around. Still, it seems most readers didn't know about all this until they read Before We Were Yours. My next book, a non-fiction, Before and After... tells the real life stories of some Georgia Tann adoptees and families. It's available for preorder now.

I am in love with your Carolina series!! So far I've read "The Prayer Box" and "The Story Keeper". Each one has left me feeling uplifted and encouraged! "The Prayer Box" actually helped motivate me to start my own prayer journal, and was paramount in rekindling my prayer life. Do you keep any kind of prayer box or journal? What do you find most helpful in maintaining your own prayer life?
