Robert asked Cameron C. Taylor:

Cameron, is Manu, the Kumu in your Lana'i story fictional? An amalgamation of real people you met? Or a (clever) tool to help weave and clarify the story you are telling? I have just come across your writings and wonder about this, which does not seem to be clearly delineated in the official descriptions of the book I can see online. Can you elaborate?

Cameron C. Taylor Here is the explanation on Manu in the preface of The Way of Aloha: Lanai:
Manu Nāpela is a fictional character; however, the principles and stories he shares are true. Manu represents the wisdom and experiences of several people. The other names, places, and accounts throughout the book are factual and are from my missionary journals and memories.

If there are specific stories, experiences, or dreams from the book you have questions about, I am happy to provide more information.

Aloha and Mahalo, Cameron
