In his introduction to the first collection of his work (1950), Will F. Jenkins (Murray Leinster) describes the musings and speculations which led to each story. As regards one he says "[It] comes out on paper and I have more fun writing it than anybody will ever have reading it." May I hope that you feel similarly? Your work has given so much enjoyment to so many, including me, it would only seem just!

Lois McMaster Bujold Well, if I'm not having any fun writing something, I can't write it at all. (Nor, at this stage of my life, have I any need to.) So anything that appears you may assume I wanted to do.

(That said, no such extended project is ever fun all the time, but the balance, at least, needs to be intrinsically rewarding.)

Hi Lois. First I want to thank you for the great stories you’ve written. Rereading books from the Vorkosigain saga always feel like coming home. In the book Komarr, Miles mentions dealing with bullies as a child. Are we ever going to see more of that story? (Aral’s death was interesting in the way it affected those close to him, but I miss the character. A young miles story could be a nice way of revisiting him.)

I just got caught up listening to the last three hours of the audiobook "The Warrior's Apprentice" after the bedtime I was aiming for. Shame on you for making it so riveting. Seriously though, after Shards of Honour (Barrayar was unavailable, so I'm still waiting for it), it was a fantastic ... listen, I suppose (seeing as I didn't technically read it). I've been rereading all your books this year since August because they are one of my comfort rereads and, since I just had another kid, they're a wonderful meditation on families and what it means to be a parent. And thank you for that! And leaving that aside, I was wondering - while rereading Paladin of Souls - whether Desdemona is still around somewhere and whether Foix dy Gura ever gets to meet her?
