What gave you the idea to write Diary of a Wimpy Kid? And (2nd question, sorry) What tips do you have for us starting Realistic Fiction writers out there?

Jeff Kinney I wanted to write a story about a kid who was like I was as a kid. I love Harry Potter, but he's everything I wasn't as a kid: powerful, rich, famous. As for tips, I'd recommend you take your time with a good idea and to nurture it over time. It takes a long time to become an expert at anything, and becoming a good writer is a skill that needs to be honed.
