Terry
Terry asked Christine Feehan:

Hi, I absolutely love your books! How long does it take for you to write them and where does your inspiration come from?

Christine Feehan It takes a couple of months to write a book. Sometimes a little longer according to the complexity of the book and what's happening in my life at the time.
It starts out with an idea for a single book. All of my books can be read as stand-alone books because that’s my approach with my writing. As I write a book, I start to see the landscape of characters, places and potential.
I’m inspired by everything around me. The wind through the trees, a man in a restaurant leaning to whisper to a woman, the way an animal moves. Anything can inspire me. My Shadow series was inspired by watching my dogs run in and out of shadows. Life around me can inspire some wild ideas in my head.
Like I said, each book is a stand-alone story. You should be able to pick up any book, as a rule, and start reading from any point in the series.
