Joey B. asked Blake Crouch:

Hi Blake. I really enjoy stories that I can just sit and absorb, with no predictability as to what might happen in the next chapter, or in the final act. Recursion is the epitome of this. So my question to you is: In a story with continuously intertwined timelines and possible character arcs, did the plot design differ from your initial drafts verses what it became as your finished novel?

Blake Crouch Yes, the book changed dramatically from what I outlined once I started writing. But this is always to be expected. An outline is just a suggestion or an educated guess of where the story might go. It should change once you start writing.
