Hi, Blake. I very much like the momentum you build in your books. Dark Matter was a joy to read and I raced through it. How much of your story do you details and structure before you set about writing page one?

I structure about half the book, and write to the midpoint. Then I take a break and try to figure out the back half. But a lot of my writing method changes from book to book. Whatever it takes!

I lived in Roscoe Village in Chicago for many years. I recall Dark Matter beginning there, but the descriptions didn't match the real Roscoe Village neighborhood. I wonder if that was on purpose to set the story up in an alternate reality from the beginning? If so do we ever land in our reality within the book?
