Mark Weaver
Mark Weaver asked Blake Crouch:

I just finished reading Recursion...what a wild ride. Just curious..how do you feel about some of your earlier works...Like Desert Places and Locked Doors? Were they labors of love that are like your children? Abandon is one of my favorites. My second question is about your plotting a story. Do you have the story all laid out from opening to conclusion or do you have a concept and start and develop it as you go?

Blake Crouch I wouldn't write books like Desert Places and Locked Doors now, but they were part of the journey that got me to write Dark Matter and Recursion, so I have nothing but love for them.

I lay out my plot through midpoint. Start writing. Continue plotting back half as I write the first half.
