Hi Ms. Wingate! I just wanted to let you know that your book, Before We Were Yours, has become a book club book for my 89 year old mother and me during the COVID isolation. I noticed that she had the audio book the last time I had visited her (She has macular degeneration and can't read well.) and I happened to have a copy from our library. Has your writing changed during these times of isolation?
Lisa Wingate
I love it when family members read one of my books and discuss it in their own "book club". What a great way to keep social during this time when you can't be together!
Right now, I'm in the midst of launching my new book, The Book of Lost Friends. Normally, I'd be flying all over the states, doing book launch events, but alas, I'm doing social isolation at home. So I have some online interviews, Facebook Alive, Zooms, etc. to keep me busy. You can visit https://www.facebook.com/LisaWingateA... if you and your mom would like to join me for an event. With all that hubbub and the email and foreign contracts and other publishing details, I'm not writing my next book quite yet. The Book of Lost Friends is another historical fiction having to do with families separated during the Reconstruction period after the civil way. There is a fabulous, dramatic audiobook available, BTW. You can search on Goodreads FMI.
Some ideas are swirling in my head for the next book. I love this time when my options are open and I'm mulling it all over. I expect I'll get started on the book sometime during the summer.

My son is writing his first book I would like to ask you what advice would you give to aspiring writer looking to break into the industry? He mostly does script writing but now is trying to write a book. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you and I'm excited to ready your next book coming out.
