Hi, Jake! I loved Greetings from Witness Protection! what inspired you write the book?

Thanks for the question, Sahara! The initial inspiration came from standardized tests, of all things. I'm a 5th grade teacher, and I was proctoring our big yearly test...you know, watching students fill in bubbles, wandering around making sure everybody had a sharpened pencil, etc. While I was doing so, I asked myself, "For what kind of kid does a test like this have the highest stakes? Who has the most to lose by not doing well here?" That's when the notion of a kid in witness protection came to me. I built the rest of the story around her.

Hi Jake, Met you at BookExpo and gushed about your new book, but forgot to ask two important questions. 1) when is the next one and 2) if you ever in the Philly/NJ/NYC area, would you be willing to do a signing at an independent book store, The Booktrader of Hamilton?
