Sara Lillie
Sara Lillie asked Lawrence Wright:

Hello, Mr. Lawrence. If we are to learn anything more from this terrible pandemic, I hope that it's on the power that our words hold. Telling lies and evading truths is a method sure to result in catastrophe (especially if you are a world leader). As an author, was there an early experience that helped you learn that language had power? Did these experiences help lead you to become an author? Thank you for your time.

Lawrence Wright As a young reader, I sensed that words were more powerful than almost any force. They had the power to teach and to inspire. When I was growing up in Dallas, Texas, my two sisters and I used to go to the library in the summer with cardboard boxes and load up on books. I even learned hypnotism when I was in middle school and used to hypnotize my middle sister. Wow, that's power. And there were those delicious moments when I found a novel that took me into another world. Yes, words have power.
