Chris
Chris asked Lawrence Wright:

How did your process for preparing and writing your new book differ from all of the past nonfiction books you’ve written, such as Going Clear or The Looming Tower?

Lawrence Wright actually, there's not a lot of difference in the preparation. Research is key for me. Knowing how things actually happens gives me the authority I need to develop the story. The rules for fiction and nonfiction are different, but I still draw inspiration from real life. It was fun to allow myself the freedom to use my imagination to invent characters and scenes, but I wanted the science to be real.
