The sub-plot with Russia interfering with western politics, state-sponsored hacking etc, could be a book in itself! Have you written about these topics elsewhere, and are the claims based on facts/proof, or speculation?

Lawrence Wright Interesting idea. I've been following cyberwar because of my interest in terrorism. What I included in the novel about Russian hackers, the attack on Saudi petrochemical plants, and the vulnerability of U.S. utilities is all true. If anything, they understate the scale of the problem.
