I was very excited to find you had written two books for young readers. My son read them back to back and LOVED THEM! I enjoy sharing my favorite authors with him, (he is 10). Will you be doing more in the Chase series or any other kid books?
Linwood Barclay
I'm so glad your son enjoyed Chase and Escape. They were a lot of fun to write. The first one is very autobiographical, in that as a young teen I was pressed into service to run a fishing camp after my father died. (That experience became a memoir called Last Resort.) And I actually took in a stray dog we named Chipper. I don't have plans to write more in the series at this time, but you never know, that might change. But I had been finding that doing my annual regular thriller for adults, and another novel for younger readers, was proving to be a little more than I could handle. Please pass on my best wishes to your son. Linwood

Hi Linwood...I don't have a question; just wanted you to know I enjoy your books. You have a very laid-back, accessible style that is a welcome change from the self-conscious type of writing so often seen in CanLIt. That's all I wanted to say, but apparently, I need to include a question mark in order to send the message, so here it is ??????

This isn't another question just an update. Our book club met again last night and your book received rave reviews. Out of a possible 25 ( 5 per person) you received 21. Probably one of the highest we have ever given. And as a bonus for you at least 3 of our members are now ordering more of your books. So can you please keep on writing?

Thank you for the Promise Falls trilogy, No Time for Goodbye/No Safe House, and Too Close to Home, as well as Last Resort, which is where I began with your books. The unparalleled pleasure of finding a new favourite author is helping me get through a very difficult time, as we grapple with my husband's very treatable but still exhausting abdominal cancer. Glad there are more of your books to read!! Writing more?
