When you started writing the three dark crowns series were you more focused on the characters and their relationships with each other or the plotline and mythology? Love the series by the way!

Kendare Blake I think it’s really important to have a balanced eye toward both, but if ever one comes into conflict with the other, character motivation will win every time. Three Dark Crowns started with a concept. But Mirabella, Arsinoe and Katharine executed that concept.
