Barrayar famously has horses. It also has cats, goats, and other critters from Earth. Interestingly, my family and I can't find any mention of dogs. Is there a particular version for the lack of overt mention of dogs?

Barrayar does have dogs; Dono is mentioned as owning a large and unruly one, not to mention young Donna's ill-fated puppy. There is also a problem of feral dogs mentioned iirc in "The Flowers of Vashnoi".
Young Miles does not appear to have ever owned a dog, so they haven't been front and center.

Does it annoy you when people tell you their dreams? Last night I dreamed that an insane seafarer showed up, trying to deliver to Penric a boatful of holy animals. Penric was really not sure what to do with them, but the man turned out to be neither exactly insane nor demon-possessed, but instead some kind of botched and inside-out saint. (No idea.) Pen was trying to think what would happen if he brought him to Iroki.
