I love books inspired by place. I wrote a book set in a little town on the coast of Oregon beginning during WWII ( my favorite subject). I am moving to Kauai shortly and hope to write about the history there. Other than the Kauai Historical Society, any thoughts on resources, particularly related to WWII? PS. I absolutely loved "Red Sky Over Hawaii" and have requested your other books.

Wonderful! I love going to the bookstore at Pearl Harbor, Kona Historical Society, Bishop Museum, or the University of Hawaii Library. Other than that, you could check state archives? Kauai is such a wonderful island, enjoy🌺

Mahalo Nui, Sara! I just love your book, Radar Girls. It took me right back home. I live on the mainland now but grew up in Honolulu. I remember a bunch of family stories about WWII; the barbed wire on Waikiki beach; the army corps of engineers taking over Punahou. Do you know much about what Duke did in those days? My dad was one of his "boys". I never asked him about that before he died.
