Goodreads asked Michael Prelee:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Michael Prelee I try to be as prepared as possible when sitting down to write. My first novel taught me the lesson of how difficult it can be to sit down without notes and only the vaguest of ideas about how the story should be told. That led to re-writes, rewrites and more re-writes to produce a work I was happy with. Now things are well planned before writing. I use copious notes, do as much research as possible so ideas are well formed and have a better idea of what I want to accomplish that day.
