Mr. Tremblay, Was HFoG at all inspired by Eve's Bayou? A narrative from a preadolescent girl, the tincture of the supernatural, the (spoiler alert) unintentional role the girl plays in the demise of her problematic father, the ambiguity of the said supernatural? Perhaps merely coincidence, but just curious and would love to know. Eliot

I want to tell you that when I received your book, Survivor Song, I was so intrigued that it jumped ahead of a very long list of books. I read it on the spot. That sounds like an exciting premise. No doubt you'll flip the "home invasion" genre on its head. Can't wait till 2018! BTW, there are at least 15 people in San Francisco who have received AHFOG as birthday gifts and all have thoroughly enjoyed it. And I have to put in a question mark for this to be posted to you--no response necessary, however. ?
