How can Nick in DH still live in his old house and walk the streets of New Orleans without consequences? I understand why he needs it: home might be the only thing keeping him sane now that he has no anchor. But he is wanted by the police for his mother's murder. You'd think if he turned up at his house a few years later, someone would notice.

You're talking about New Orleans. It's not a small town and there are a lot of murders there. Many homes/businesses have murders in them and new owners take over after the crime (the house is never in the name of the DH, it's in the name of the Squires-- before Nick came home, both Menyara and Otto lived there while he was away and now Chris is there). Cherise died over a decade ago and NIck was gone for several years from New Orleans after it happened.
To give an idea about NO stats, murder is down this year from last year and they had 70 murders in the first six months of 2014, alone. That's not counting all the other crimes in the city. So it would be very easy for him to not be noticed by a police force that is overburdened by open cases.
He's also not walking around in broad daylight or bringing attention to himself. Bourbon St, where he lives, is crowded with tourists after dark. Nor is he in New Orleans all the time. He's spending a lot of time with Artemis on Olympus and traveling all over the country. Not to mention, he's the Malachai and can influence what people perceive and see. He can even teleport or fly if need be. So for him, it's not hard or unbelievable. He's not a normal person ;) Hugs!

Would it be advisable to read 'Lords of Avalon' before 'Son of No One'? :)
