Aw, thank you so much--stories give me great comfort and I'm so glad to have given you comfort too! Especially in our year of greatly needing comfort. As regards Golden, I don't want to be one of those writers who do representation outside of but not within the novel--but definitely I wouldn't rule it out, your Golden headcanons are valid, and maybe someday 'twill be addressed in... another tale in the world. Maybe!

I will solidly admit that I haven't read "The Demon's Covenant," but now I will be. I just have to ask ... is the one off mention of "Arthur Dee" based off the son of the alchemist John Dee? I was researching Arthur Dee and Google kept picking up on this one mention. But then wouldn't supply if I was right. I always get very excited to know if anyone actually knows of Arthur Dee apart from me, since he's so niche.
