Hi Mark, In my book Ice & Oil, the Life, and Legacy of Dan Murphy, California's Unlikely Titan, one-third of the book takes place in Needles, CA in 1883 - 1900. The Earp bros. were mining along the Colorado at the time. Wyatt and family retired in the West Adams neighborhood of Los Angeles - a few blocks from where Murphy retired in 1910. I look forward to reading your trilogy which book would cover these dates?

Mark Warren Hey, Joseph. I chose not to cover the later part of Wyatt's life because of the anti-climactic nature of his failures and, more importantly, his disappointments in his marriage. I wanted the book to end on an up-beat note, so I chose 1883. Wyatt's time at Needles may have brought him into contact with Dan Murphy. It would be interesting to know.
