I once heard a Chicago news story about a bewildering shooting at the same time I was reading an article about local governments abusing eminent domain power. The two ideas somehow merged in my mind in the context of the people involved. As is often the case, asking myself a series of “what if?” questions eventually developed into A House on Liberty Street.

Hi Neil, this is not a question but a suggestion. I have just finished " A case of Betrayal' ---------- you mention on several occasions that certain characters behaved like animals. All Animals are beautiful creatures that do not have the sick behaviour of some Humans, please can you use another description? Thank you and looking forward to your next book.
