Why is there such a disturbing summary for the book Elliot and the Goblin War? Not that I don't absolutely love it, I just wanted to know how you got the idea to put it this way/ Can't wait to read the book! I just joined goodreads so I am learning about other series from my favorite authors! I am sure it will be just as interesting as The Ascendance, The Mark of the Thief, and The Traitor's Game!

It was always intended to have very dark humor - the kind that young readers will giggle at because they know it's not fully serious, but still get a little shiver because they wonder if maybe there is a tiny hint of truth behind it all. That's all, it was just a fun way of writing.

I've recently been reading about Julius Caesar for school and how he got captured by pirates. It reminds me so much of Jaron and how he behaved toward the pirates in "The Runaway King". Did you take any inspiration from the pirates who captured Caesar when you were writing about the Avenian pirates? I think that would be so cool if you did!

My 6th graders were beyond excited to discover that there will be a book 4 to the Ascendance "Trilogy!" We just finished book 3 last week, and they are all trying to figure out how I can read it to them next year when they are in middle school! I have been reading the series ever since it came out, and every year I have had to read all 3 books, once they were all out, of course. Are ARC copies available for book 4?
