Anabel asked Penelope Douglas:

"Bully" is one of your first books I read and it was such an enjoyable surprise. How did you prepare yourself to start writing, from your first book till now? Thank you for all the great stories you have shared with us! <3

Penelope Douglas Hey, Anabel!

Thanks! Bully was a joy to write. With my first book, I kind of just wrote--which is probably why I had to rewrite it twice lol. I didn't plan much, and I was pretty much learning how to write as I went. My editor would come back to me about "staying in the moment and in the head of the character" during action scenes and such. I had a lot to learn.

Now, I plan heavily. I love outlines, mood boards, and playlists. I dream up scenes I want to include and keep notes. Sometimes I just write in my notebook--rambling basically--and sometimes I'll use notecards if the book is particularly complicated and I need organize a sequence. It changes over time.

Thanks for reading! Hope you like what's next. <3
