I love The Orphan Queen duology, I've read it about a million times (I practically sleep with both books). I was wondering, what was your inspiration for it?

Inspiration comes from lots of different places and it can be hard to pin down where something started, but one thing I really wanted to explore was the relationship between people who'd helped each other during a really desperate time--and then were separated for years. Bringing them back together was very exciting for me. :)
