Hi Anthea, Do you recommend reading your series in any particular order? Thanks, Kat at Turned Page

Hi Kat! Books within my series tend to be sequential, but other than that the series themselves can be read in whatever order. :) That said! The Darkwood Chronicles (Elfhame/Hawthorne/Raine) happen in time before the Darkwood Trilogy (White as Frost/Black as Night/Red as Flame) so readers familiar with those earlier books will get a few little treats. However, it's not necessary to read the two series in that order - the trilogy stands alone well (although Red as Flame won't be out until early 2022).
The Feyland books have a completely different feel, of course, being a mix of high-tech gaming and faerie fantasy, set in a near-future world. While, like the Darkwood books, I'm strongly inspired by Celtic folklore, Feyland is more "real world" and the Darkwood books are secondary world epic fantasy.

What do you like about writing fiction and is there a particular distinction that you would possibly consider Young Adult fiction in the fantasy genre brings something different from other types of writing in this type of novel such as mainstream adult novels for slightly more grown up readers?

I fell in love with Feyland all those years ago, and I remember thinking, "Yes. This is how I love my fairy tales!" Then I realized you're in the same list as my other favourite authors like Holly Black, L.J Smith and Laini Taylor who could spin magic through words! I can't enough of it so I'm wondering if you're working on any other new YA books in the Fae world? :D
