Goodreads asked Ruth King Porter:

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Ruth King Porter I don't think I could write a mystery novel, but there are mysteries and surprises everywhere, so of course they show up in my novels. One of the biggest surprises, the most unexpected turn my life has taken is that my smart and clear-thinking husband of more than fifty years has developed Alzheimers. Who could have predicted that Bill Porter, who wrote the complicated and brilliant novel, Notes of a Self-Seeker, would get to a place where he couldn't remember that he wrote it. Alzheimers is definitely what I will write about in my next book.
