Andy Weir That's not quite accurate. It wasn't "ignored". I never attempted to get it published. I wasn't aware anyone would be interested. The publisher came to me.

But yes, I definitely recommend self-publishing to anyone trying to break into the writing world. It removes all barriers between you and your readers. And it doesn't require any financial risk on your part.

Congratulations, I really enjoyed the novel. Did you have to do a lot of research into the physics of space, (potatoes), and Mars? Has anyone called out any factual errors since it's been published?
