Matt Damon has been rumored to play the lead in the movie adaptation of "The Martian". Damon can be currently seen in "Interstellar" playing a marooned astronaut. Do you think Damon playing a similar character will hurt the box office for the movie adaptation?

I don't think Damon's role in Interstellar will have any effect on The Martian. I haven't seen Interstellar yet, but as I understand it, he was only in it for a short time.

Don't you think there should have been a more "depressing attitude" given the situation? Totally loved the book and specially Mark as a character, but even though he seems like the kind of guy who uses humor to evade expressing his emotions and fears I think it's strange he only talks about what he's been doing and there are no psychological moments.
